Built on Tradition, Designed for Today
1990
At just 15, Rory began working in Maurice Walsh Carpets in Dún Laoghaire. It was here that he learned the fundamentals of the trade, from fitting and finishing to the discipline and pride that come with doing the job properly.
2000
Rory’s skill and work ethic led to him being headhunted by Carpetright, where he helped open multiple Dublin stores. During this time, he earned several company-wide awards, including Manager of the Year.
2004
After moving to Gorey, Co. Wexford, Rory opened his first business, Floors Direct. This marked a shift from managing stores to building a reputation under his own name, rooted in quality workmanship and trust.
2009
Rory sold his share in the business and founded Pro-fit Carpet Services Ltd, returning to full-time fitting. Working as a subcontractor, this period became one of growth and mastery and the beginning of passing the trade on to his sons.
2026
Rory, his partner Ashley, and the wider family come together to launch FlooringOnline.ie. Combining decades of craftsmanship with Ashley’s design expertise and a mobile showroom model, they create a modern service built for how people live today.
